On August 8, 2012, a few minutes after the owner sprayed the cat with the product, the owner noticed that the cat was symptomatic. A short time later that evening, the owner observed that the cat died. On August 10, 2012 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that dermal reactions are possible and are self-limiting. A necropsy was not available because the cat's body had been buried. The APSS assistant referred the owner to the manufacturer to discuss the product.
