On July 8, 2012 the owner noticed that the dog was drooling, and she immediately took the dog to the veterinarian, where fluid therapy was given. On July 10, 2012 the veterinarian gave the dog prednisone and enrofloxacin and performed an endoscopy. On July 11, 2012 the dog developed aspiration pneumonia and died. On July 26, 2012 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the dog's signs were not expected from the exposure to the product. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner's veterinarian call for information. A necropsy was not available.
