On November 8, 2011, the owner noticed the cat groomed some of the product off of its coat shortly after it was applied, and the cat began to drool. The owner wiped off the cat's coat and skin with water and a wash cloth and gave the cat some milk to dilute the product. A short time later, the cat's drooling ended. On November 9, 2011 the owner noticed the cat had a behavioral change, lying around a lot more than usual. Later that morning, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that a taste reaction could occur and that signs were not expected to be serious. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner call back with questions and monitor the cat for dermatological signs.
