On August 21, 2012 the owner noticed that the kitten was vomiting. Later that evening, the owner observed that the kitten had additional symptoms. On August 22, 2012 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner take the kitten to the veterinarian and have the veterinarian call for information.

The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. On August 24, 2012 the owner contacted the APSS to update the case. The owner stated that the kitten had fully recovered on August 23, 2012 and she never took her to the veterinarian.
