On September 15, 2012 the owner noticed that the cat was drooling. A short time later that evening, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner give the cat a taste treat of a few laps of milk or tuna juice, monitor the cat for vomiting, monitor the cat for dermatological signs at the application site for 24 hours, bathe the cat with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) if the cat continued to groom the agent, and call back with questions.
