On April 13, 2012 the owner noticed that the dog was symptomatic. On May 3, 2012 the owner rinsed the dog's ears with water, and that seemed to resolve all symptoms except for the scab. On May 10, 2012 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that the concern was for dermal hypersensitivity and paresthesia. The APSS assistant recommended that the owner take the dog to the veterinarian and call back with questions.
