1-31089529 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that his cat was exposed to an insecticidal product containing the active ingredient tetrachlorvinphos. The pet owner reported that the product was applied to his 10-month-old, male cat 3 days prior to initial contact with the registrant and about one hour after product application the cat was drooling and twitching a little. The following day the cat started urinating blood and on the day of initial contact the cat was no longer urinating and was vomiting. The reporter was advised that blood in the urine and anuria would not be consistent with product exposure drooling is possible with ingestion of the product due to the unpleasant taste of the product, and muscle twitching can be a sign of toxicity to the product. Caller was further advised to seek immediate veterinary care for his cats urinary tract symptoms; in male cats the urethra can become blocked and treatment is a medical emergency. No further information is available.
