1-31088301 - The reporter, a pet owner, indicated that his cat was exposed to an insecticidal spot-on product containing the active ingredient methoprene. The pet owner reported that the product was applied to his almost 12-week-old, female domestic shorthair 30 minutes prior to initial contact with the registrant. The cat was able to lick the site of application and within 15 minutes it was drooling and seems tired. The reporter was advised that the product has a very low level of toxicity in mammals and lethargy would not be consistent with product exposure drooling is possible with ingestion of the product due to the bad taste of the product. Decontamination was recommended and the reporter was advised to seek medical attention if symptoms persisted or worsened. No further information is available.
