On May 30, 2012, right after the owner applied the product to the cat, the cat died. On June 5, 2012 the owner's caretaker contacted the company to obtain help. The company's veterinarian stated that tingling of nerve endings on the skin, local irritation, redness, itching, and alopecia could be seen in some cats, but death would not be expected. The call center staff recommended that the owner call back with questions.

The company's veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a doubtful likelihood of causing the clinical situation. A follow up was not performed, because additional information was not expected.
