1-29992431- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her animal was exposed to an herbicide containing the active ingredient corn gluten meal. The reporter stated she had applied the product to her residential lawn one week prior to her initial contact with the registrant. Three days later her six month male eight pound male Dachshund dog had diarrhea and loss of appetite. The pet had been taken to the veterinarian where a radiograph had revealed inflammation of the stomach. The pet owner was unable to describe a discreet exposure incident but hypothesizes the animal may have ingested some product. The pet owner was advised no harm would be expected following known (observed) exposure. Gastrointestinal irritation may follow any dietary indiscretion in pets. The pet owner did not respond to follow up.
