On November 20, 2011 the dog accidentally ingested some of the bait product. On November 21, 2011 the owner noticed the dog was drooling. A short time later, the owner took the dog to the veterinarian. The dog died on the way to the veterinarian. A few minutes later, the veterinarian called the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian did not have a chance to discuss the risk with the veterinarian, as the veterinarian declined a consultation with an APSS veterinarian.
