1-29919278- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her animal was exposed to an insecticidal product congaing the active ingredient permethrin. The pet owner stated she applied the product to her seven month forty two pound female Labrador retriever the day prior to her initial contact. She indicated when she awoke this morning the animals left eye seems irritated and it has difficulty leaving it open. She is able to describe no ocular exposure. The pet owner was advised to seek veterinary assistance. Many other issues may elicit these signs (e.g., foreign body, corneal scratch, etc.) and the veterinarian would best be able to sort out the differential diagnoses. The pet owner did not respond to follow up attempt. No further information is available.
