(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-29083701- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her animal had been exposed to two registrant supported insecticidal products. The first is a pet flea and tick shampoo containing the active ingredients pyrethrins, piperonyl butoxide and n-octyl bicycloheptene the second is a flea and tick powder containing the active ingredient tetrachlorvinphos. The pet owner stated she bathed her four year male sixty five pound Pit Bull terrier with the shampoo and then immediately applied the powder to the animal. The pet owner stated the products were applied the night prior to her initial report. She had just returned home to find the animal dead. She stated there was evidence of vomiting prior to the animals death in the area. She reported the animal had been losing weight and hair in the recent past but was unsure what was the cause of these signs. The pet owner was advised the signs and outcome seen would be unexpected despite the fact that the products are not labeled for simultaneous usage. It was suggested that something else may have been affecting her pets heath. The pet owner was advised of registrant supported necropsy to assist in determining the cause of the animals death. At the point of this report she had not availed herself of this program. No further information is available.
