1-28617744- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated his animal had been exposed to an insecticidal product containing the active ingredient tetrachlorvinphos and methoprene. The pet owner indicated he had applied the product to his nine year old female cat three days prior to his initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner had noted the morning of his initial contact the animal was ataxic, having difficulty rising/walking, pupils were dilated, and the animal was not producing urine as he would expect. The pet owner took the animal to the veterinarian that morning, the veterinarian gave the animal an injection of atropine and discharged the animal. The pet died the same afternoon at home. the pet owner indicated the animal was buried and no necropsy performed. The pet owner was advised the signs seen and outcome would be unexpected following use of the product as labeled. No further information is available.
