(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
1-28330546-The reporter, a pet owner, indicates his animal was exposed to an insecticide containing the active ingredient permethrin. The pet owner indicated he had applied the product, a topical flea and tick product labeled for use on dogs, to his two year female six pound cat the evening prior to his initial contact with the registrant. The next morning the pet owner noted "convulsing". The pet owner had bathed the animal at the point of the call. The pet owner was advised cats as a species are less tolerant of the active ingredient than dogs. Concentrated pyrethroid products designed for dogs should not be applied to cats. The pet owner was advised to seek immediate veterinary care. On follow up the pet owner indicated the pet had not been take to the veterinarian. The pet had been bathed three times. The pet owner indicated the next day the animal was still demonstrating ataxia. No further information is available.
