At an unknown date and time, the owner bathed the dog. On June 15, 2011 the owner noticed the dog was symptomatic. On June 20, 2011 the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS) to obtain help. The APSS veterinarian stated that dogs tolerate pyrethroids well and that no life threatening signs were expected. The APSS veterinarian also stated that pyrethroids can cause a "pins and needles" sensation or hyperesthesia.The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner monitor the dog at home, take the dog to the veterinarian if signs worsen, talk with the manufacturer about the product with this lot number, and call back with questions.
