Accidental ingestion/Ingestion accident.
(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
The owner accidentally spilled the agent and then he left it to get something to clean it up. When the owner returned his wife was cleaning it up and the dog vomited twice, two small piles of foam. The owner doesn't know if the dog ingested any or not but suspects that she did. Caller was informed that would expect nausea, vomiting, possible diarrhea with this exposure history. Also with this exposure we can see GI upset at smaller amounts and tremors at high amount. Since this is a small amount the owner just needs to manage vomiting, withhold all food and water for 30 minutes. Slowly reintroduce water by giving ice cubes one at a time every 5 minutes or so and after 30 minutes introduce water bowl. After an additional hour give normal diet if animal is able to keep down water. Call back if signs are more than mild, smell the dog's paws and muzzle to see if there might be some agent remaining and monitor for further GI upset. If the paws smell like the agent wash with LDWD. If the muzzle smells like the agent wipe with a wet wash cloth. Follow up call with dog owner revealed that pet is back to normal. They washed the pets paws and NPO for 30 mins. The pet did not vomit again. The pet has made a full recovery
