1-27414745-The reporter, a pet owner, indicates her animal had been exposed to an insecticide containing the active ingredient phenothrin. The reporter indicted the product was applied to a 2-3 year old 4-5 pound female mixed breed dog that she had been caring for one month. The animal had previously been a stray. The product was applied two days prior to the initial contact with the registrant. One day following application the animal developed the signs of lethargy, diarrhea, anorexia, vomiting, salivation and hematemesis. The pet owner was advised the signs seen would not be expected following use of the product according to the label. She was advised how to decontaminate the animal and further advised to seek veterinarian assistance. On follow up the pet owner indicated the animal had died the day of her initial contact. It had not been brought to the veterinarian and had been buried in the pet owner¿s back yard before a necropsy could be suggested. No further information is available.
