Owner applied product to two cats. This cat is the larger of the two. Shortly after application, the owner noticed the cat was panting and open mouth breathing. This lasted approx 2-3 hours and the cat was laying down in sternal recumbency for most of this time. The cat returned to normal after 2-3 hours. The other cat was unaffected.

The cat may have been responding to the cold creeping sensation sometime associated with application. Advantage 9 is not appropriate for this cat. Advantage 18 should have been used.
