1-27235581- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated her animal was exposed to an herbicide containing the active ingredient Iron (Ferric HEDTA). The pet owner indicated she had applied the product to her lawn and her dog was allowed access to the application site. The animal was reported to have started vomiting. The pet owner did not describe application of the product or when the animal was allowed access to the application site in respect to when the product was applied. The pet owner did not describe the avenue of exposure (dermal vs. ingestion). This product/active ingredient is well tolerated when encountered by pets. Dermal exposure via contact with application sites would not be expected to result in gastrointestinal signs.
