1-26486309- The reporter, a pet owner, indicated exposure of his animal to an insecticidal product containing the active ingredient phenothrin. The pet owner indicated he had bathed four one and one had month Chihuahua puppies one and one half weeks prior to his initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner indicated two of the animals (Subform III, #1) were observed to vocalize, lose hair and not move and indeterminate time following application. He reports those two animals died 1-2 days after the signs were first noted. He did not indicate when this occurred with respect to when the application had taken place. He reports the two remaining animals (Subform III, #2) had hair loss at the point of his initial contact. He did not seek veterinary assistance at any point. The pet owner was advised the product is labeled for use in animal six months of age or older. Despite the use against the label recommendations the signs seen and out come would be unexpected. He was advised to seek immediate veterinary assistance to determine the cause of the animals¿ illness and appropriate care. No further information is available.
