Four days ago dog ingested 1 block of rat bait. Yesterday the dog became lethargic, was not eating or drinking, and began bleeding from the rectum. The dog is at the vet now and is on IV fluids. Because the amount was generally consistent, the patient was considered to be at high risk of developing clinical signs. If signs develop, there is high risk that those signs will be life-threatening. Case was discussed with Animal's vet the dog was transfused 12/15 with whole blood and started on vitamin K1 for 30 days. She went home yesterday.
