1 25820588 The caller, a pet owner, indicated his animal had been exposed to an herbicide containing the active ingredient corn gluten meal. The pet owner indicated his ten year ten pound male miniature pinscher dog may have ingested a few granules of the product within one hour of his call. He reported the animal had vomited one time, but commented the animal had a touchy stomach. The pet owner was advised gastrointestinal upset may be seen following ingestion. It was advised he restrict access if the animal is prone to dietary indiscretion. He was advised of supportive care he might offer at home and the threshold at which he might seek veterinary care. On follow up the pet owner indicated the pet had vomited four times and had a short term loss of appetite unspecified time frame. The pet then fully recovered.
