On 16 Oct 2010 K9 Advantix 10 was applied to Fang a 7-8 pound, 3 year old, intact female, mixed breed per labelled directions. 8-12 hours after application Fang developed vomiting and bloody diarrhea. Fand died at an unknown time the morning of 18 Oct 2010.

Observed signs are rather unspecific in dogs and may have multiple potential causes. They are not expected following topical application of product. Potential oral ingestion was not reported, but also not expected to cause signs. Especially bloody diarrhoea as well as fatal outcome not consistent with product's pharmaco-toxicological profile. No necropsy performed to specify death cause.
