(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
On September 8, 2010 the cat began experiencing symptoms, so the owner took the cat to the veterinarian, who started fluid therapy. The attending veterinary staff then contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian stated tremors and seizures are expected in cats exposed to concentrated permethrin. The APSS veterinarian recommended giving the cat methocarbamol and diazepam, as well as bathing the cat when he becomes stable. The APSS veterinarian also recommended monitoring the cat's body temperature at the veterinary clinic, continuing fluid therapy, providing symptomatic care, and managing the cat's seizures.
Moderate
On September 22, 2010 an APSS assistant called the veterinary clinic to follow up the case. The veterinary staff stated all of the recommendations had been completed and the cat fully recovered on September 9, 2010. This product was not used according to label directions: Do not use on cats.
