On May 18, 2010 the Wellmark Canada employee recommended the owner bath the cat with liquid dish washing detergent (LDWD) and asked that the APSS contact the owner to discuss the case. Shortly later, an APSS technician contacted the owner to discuss the case. The owner stated that she had bathed the cat with LDWD that day. The APSS technician relayed the APSS veterinarian's recommendations to take the cat to the veterinarian and have the veterinarian call for information.

The APSS veterinarian stated that the substance was considered to have a low likelihood of causing the clinical situation. On May 20, 2010 an APSS technician contacted the owner to follow up the case. The owner stated the cat had fully recovered on May 20, 2010.
