1-24765085- The reporter, a pet owner, indicates exposure of his animal to a pesticide containing the active ingredients Allethrin, methoprene, and N-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide. The pet owner indicate he had bathed his three and one half year old sixty six pound male Pit Bull dog with the product, a flea and tick shampoo labeled for use on dogs, the day prior to the initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner indicated the animal had a seizure one hour prior to the initial contact with the registrant. The pet owner was advised the signs seen would be unexpected following routine use as advised on the label. The pet owner was advised to seek prompt veterinary assistance both to determine the cause for the seizure and to provide treatment. On routine a follow up call the pet owner advised the registrant the animal had more seizures following his initial call and died at home thirty minutes following his initial contact with the registrant. He had not seen a veterinarian and had buried the dog before a necropsy could be suggested.
