1-24099720- The reporter, a pet owner, indicates her animal was exposed to an insecticide containing the active ingredient methoprene. She indicates she applied the product a topical flea drop to her five year eight pound female domestic shorthair cat the day prior to the initial contact with the registrant. She indicated the animal had a seizure within 15 hours of the application of the product. The animal had another seizure some time prior to her initial contact and was reported to have developed muscle tremors as well. The caller indicated she had bathed the animal with a noninsecticidal shampoo. The caller was advised the signs seen would not be expected to occur following use of this product according to the label instructions. The caller was advised to bathe the animal once again with a degreasing hand dishwashing liquid and to seek veterinary assistance. On routine call back the owner indicated the animal was still having tremors two days later. She had not brought it to the veterinarian due to lack of resources. She indicated she would not bring the animal to the veterinarian despite the recommendation of the registrant. No further information is available .
