June 16, 2010 Veterinarian called to report on two dogs who were believe to have possible been exposed to insecticide. The owner's neighbor reportedly applied diluted Baythroid on the neighbors property on June 7. It had rained heavily on June 8. The dogs have had free access to the field, but it is not known if or when the dogs reentered the field after application. Both dogs developed nose bleeds and respiratory issues within about 3-5 days of insecticide application. The four year-old female passed away on June 14; The five year-old male has developed seizures today. Both dogs have normal prothrombin times which would seemingly rule out rodenticide exposure.
