On May 13, 2010 the APSS veterinarian stated cats are very sensitive to high concentration permethrin. The APSS technician relayed the APSS veterinarian's recommendations to take the cat to the veterinarian and have the veterinarian call for information.

On May 19, 2010 an APSS assistant contacted the owner to follow up the case. The owner stated that she had taken the cat into the veterinarian after the APSS consult, but they weren't able to treat the cat, so the cat died on May 13, 2010. This product was not used according to label directions: do not use on cats.
