1-23350699- The reporter, a pet owner, indicates her animal has been exposed to a pesticide containing the active ingredients (S)-Methoprene and D-Phenothrin. The pet owner states she applied the product, a topical flea and tick drop, to her animal (a 6 year 25 pound Cocker Spaniel dog) four days prior to the initial contact with the registrant. The caller reports her dog spontaneously died within two hours of product application. No signs were observed prior to the animal¿s death. The animal was not brought to a veterinarian, and no necropsy was performed prior to burying the animal. The pet owner was advised this would not be expected following labeled use of the product. The animal likely had some underlying health condition undiagnosed. This would best be determined via necropsy.
