1-23333048- The reporter, a pet owner, indicates her animal has been exposed to an insecticide containing the active ingredient permethrin and methoprene. The pet owner indicates her four month female domestic shorthair cat had been observed licking the product which had been applied to her dog prior. The ingestion volume was unknown and took place the day prior to the initial call. The cat was at the initial contact with the registrant demonstrating the newly developed sign of muscle tremors. The caller was advised of the signs typically seen in feline patients exposed to concentrated canine topical flea and tick preparations. She was advised of standardized treatment protocols following these exposures, the typical duration of those treatments, and prognosis. She was lastly advised to seek prompt veterinary care. The pet owner did not respond to two attempts at routine follow up. No further information is available.
