1-22693813- The reporter calls to indicate his dog was exposed to a herbicide containing the active ingredients ingredients 2, 4-d (dimethylamine salt), mecoprop-p (propionic acid), dicamba (dimethylamine salt). The caller reports the 90 pound 1 year Labrador Retriever had accidentally been sprayed with the product by the neighbor and had been observed ingesting foliage to which the product had been applied during the day. The animal had developed signs of lethargy and anorexia the next day. The caller was informed when diluted according to label instructions the product carries a low order of toxicity and would be considered a gastro intestinal irritant. Supportive care would suffice in most cases of known ingestion exposures. If the animal is prone to dietary indiscretion as described co-ingestions may exist. Seek veterinary assistance if sign persist. The caller was not available on routine call back. No further information is available.
