1-22444068: The reporter, the animal owner, called on 4/30/10 to report the exposure of her 2.5 year old male Chihuahua to a product containing the active ingredient Potassium Salt of Fatty Acids. According to the reporter, the dog had walked through product residue about 30 minutes prior to the call. The dog had vomited once afterwards, and the reporter suspected that the dog had groomed himself and ingested some of the product. By the time of the call, the reporter had already given the dog a bath and noted that the decontamination seemed to helping. The reporter had also been replacing lost fluids. The specialist managing the call agreed with the reporter┐s method of decontamination. It was discussed that if the product was ingested it may induce some degree of stomach upset. A recommendation was made to continue fluid replacement and call back if necessary. A follow-up call was placed on 5/3/10, but was never returned. No additional information is available.
