14. Provide supplemental information here

Investigation by the soybean exporter group confirmed that an equipment malfunction in a funnel on a bagging machine occurred near the end of bagging a shipment of soybeans for Japan. A replacement part was mistakenly taken from another machine that was used to bag soybeans treated with a seed treatment. This resulted in a few bags in the shipment having a residue that was slightly above the MRL (0.04ppm vs the MRL of 0.02ppm). The situation is being investigated by the Canadian Grain Commission and corrective action, including training for the machine operators, will be instituted. Since this was an equipment malfunction issue with a bagging machine, no changes to the current MRL for thiamethoxam are warranted. This shipment has been ceased by the authorities in Japan and will not be used for food purposes.
