1-21532241: A reporter (cat owner) called on 01/29/2010 to report the exposure of her cat to a flea and tick collar containing the active ingredient Tetrachlorvinphos. According to the reporter, the collar was applied to the cat on 01/27/2010. On 01/28/2010, the reporter noted skin irritation around the cat's neck. The reporter removed the collar, cleaned the irritated area, and took the cat to the veterinarian. The cat was treated with antibiotics, probiotics, and a topical cream. At the time of the report, the cat had lost hair in the affected area and had an open wound. The reporter was advised that the signs described are not typical with routine product use. Individual sensitivities are possible. The reporter was advised to continue working with her veterinarian. The company's reimbursement policy was discussed. No further information was obtained.
