On August 24, 2009 the pet owner applied the Zodiac Spot On Flea Control for Cats and Kittens to the kitten and then sprayed the kitten with Zodiac Flea and Tick Spray for Dogs and Cats to treat a flea infestation.

Signs ended within 5 minutes. The APSS veterinarian stated that the sneezing was likely a result of nasal irritation from the product, and the hypersalivation was likely due to a taste reaction. She recommended that the pet owner offer the kitten a taste treat if the hypersalivation recurred and call back with any questions.

The APSS veterinarian stated that the Zodiac Flea and Tick Spray for Dogs and Cats was considered to have a high likelihood of causing the clinical situation. The APSS veterinarian stated that the Zodiac Spot On Flea Control for Cats and Kittens was considered to have a low likelihood of causing the clinical situation. Signs were expected to be mild and self limiting.
