1-20438431: A reporter (cat owner) called on 10/16/2009 to report the exposure of his cat to a canine flea and tick product containing the active ingredients Methoprene and Phenothrin. According to the reporter, the product was applied to the cat on 10/15/2009. Within 12 hours of product application, the cat developed tremors. The cat was bathed with a human shampoo, but the cat was still having tremors and seemed agitated at the time of the report. The reporter was advised that the cat should be bathed again with hand dish soap to fully remove any product residue and evaluated by a veterinarian if signs persist. Treatment is symptomatic and supportive, including tremor control. On follow up, the reporter stated that the cat was seen by a veterinarian and was treated with fluids and methocarbamol. The cat's signs resolved within 24 hours. No further information was obtained. NOTE: This product is not labeled for use on cats.
