On August 24, 2009 the pet owner took the cat to the veterinarian. The APSS veterinarian stated that the signs this cat was experiencing were not consistent with an exposure to this product. She asked the pet owner to have her veterinarian call to discuss permethrin hair testing and call back with additional information about a spot on product that was used on a dog in the household. The regular veterinarian called to report the cat died at the clinic on August 24, 2009 after supportive care was implemented. The cat's body was no longer available for permethrin hair testing or necropsy.
