The caller phoned a veterinarian and the veterinarian said he wanted to see the kitten, but the caller said he could not afford to take the kitten. The vet advised the caller to bathe the kitten with Dawn dish detergent. The bath water was described by the caller as black and blood tinged. The kitten had a large flea burden. No other treatment was given.

According to the specialist at Prosar, these symptoms are not consistent with the use of the product. A necropsy was offered but the owner declined.

The second kitten was bathed with Dawn dish detergent. The caller spoke with the veterinarian and was told to bring the kittens in and the veterinarian could treat them or euthanize them for him. Caller said he could not afford to treat the kittens. The bath water was described by the caller as black and blood tinged. The kitten had a large flea burden. No other treatment was given.
