(eg. description of the frequency and severity of the symptoms
6/16/2009 Caller reports that product was sprayed on crops at caller's farm to kill weevils in April of 2005. Caller entered the treated area after spraying to see if product was dry and noted that the crops sprayed were a frost white color. After the product had dried completely, part of the crop was fed to his cattle during the spring of 2005. In October of 2005, several of the cattle were dying unexpectedly and a total of 22 (of his 130 head herd) died over about an 8 week period of time. It is not known what (if any) symptoms the cattle displayed prior to their death though according to the owner, some of the animals had apparently developed "digestive stasis". A necropsy was subsequently performed on 1 of the 22 dead cattle in an attempt to determine the cause. The DVM had noted that the cattle had "pus pockets" in their lungs though there were no other findings in the necropsy. He notes that the cattle that had died were typically smaller than others in the herd and were about 150#. A veterinarian came to the farm during the time when the cattle were dying, and prescribed antibiotics. It is unclear which cattle received antibiotics and whether this may have prevented death.
