1-18828038: A reporter (fish owner) called on 06/15/2009 to report the exposure of 100 catfish to an aquatic herbicide containing the active ingredient Diquat. According to the reporter, 1 quart of product was applied to a 1/8th acre pond (registered labeled rate) on 04/24/2009. On 05/06/2009, 100 baby catfish were introduced to the pond. Two dozen catfish (1st Subform III) died shortly after being introduced to the pond. The reporter suspects the fish deaths were due to a sudden transition from cold water to the warmer pond water. The remaining fish were asymptomatic. Product information indicates no restrictions for fish with the typical application of 2 gallons of product per surface acre of water. No further information was obtained.
