1-18704615: A reporter (cat owner) called on 06/04/2009 to report the possible exposure of her cat to an herbicide containing the active ingredients 2,4-D, Mecoprop, Dicamba, and Dimethylamine. According to the reporter, the diluted product was applied to the dandelions in the yard on 06/02/2009. The cat was out on the lawn about 2 hours following product application, but the reporter thinks that the application areas would have been dry by that time since it was a sunny day. Actual exposure of the cat to the product was not witnessed. The cat vomited on 06/03/2009. At the time of the report, the cat was not eating or drinking and was lethargic. The reporter had tried to administer water with a dropper, but the cat growled at her. The reporter was advised that ingestion of the wet diluted product may result in transient gastrointestinal upset, but it would not be expected to cause the protracted signs described. The reporter was also advised that exposure to dried product would not result in adverse effects. A recommendation was made to have the cat evaluated by a veterinarian. A follow up attempt was unsuccessful. No further information was obtained.
