On June 20, 2009, the cat vocalized after being dipped. 15-25 minutes later, the owner found him dead. The owner noted that his tongue was swollen and abnormally colored. The pet owner contacted her regular veterinarian who was unfamiliar with the product. On June 30, 2009, the pet owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS).
