On June 27, 2009, the dog was trembling and vomited. The owner rinsed the dog with water. Later that same day, the owner contacted the Animal Product Safety Service (APSS). The APSS veterinarian recommended that the owner monitor the dog at home for continued GI symptoms, manage vomiting by withholding food and water, give GI protectants if needed, bathe the dog with warm water and liquid dish soap, monitor closely at home, and call back if signs persist or worsen.
