The owner was advised to take the animal into the local veterinary clinic for symptomatic treatment. The animal was taken into the local veterinary clinic where he was hospitalized overnight. The owner stated that she was unsure what treatment her cat received, but the attending veterinarian did send the animal home on phenobarbital.
