On May 15, 2008, the owner took the animal to a veterinary clinic where the attending veterinarian removed the collar and bathed the cat. The animal's signs ended on May 19, 2008. On May 21, 2008, the APSS veterinarian stated that since the signs are non-specific, it is difficult to assess if the collar was related. The APSS veterinarian recommended that if the signs recur, the owner take the animal to the local veterinary clinic for a thorough work-up. The cat had fully recovered.
