The APSS veterinarian recommended the owner take the animal to the veterinarian and consult with them about future flea control, apply a cold compress at the irritation site, have her veterinarian call for information, control the existing skin issues, and call back with any questions.

The APSS veterinarian doubted that the household spray was related to causing the clinical situation. The owner stated that she did apply a cold compress to the irritated area, but had not taken the cat to the veterinarian yet. However, she had made an appointment with a veterinary clinic for the morning of October 2, 2008. At this point, the cat's signs continue.
