This product is safe to use in cats and the company does take into account that cats are groomers and may lick the product after it is applied. Would not expect the product to cause sudden death in the cat. The cat was let outside after treatment and the body was discovered outside. Other possible reasons to be considered. The caller was offered necropsy testing but the animal was unavailable.
