The APSS veterinarian recommended the owner re-bathe the kitten using liquid dishwashing detergent. After the bath, keep the kitten warm in warmed, dry towels. In case the kitten licked some of the product, and it is making him stressed, the owner should give him a taste treat. If shaking is not decreased in thirty to sixty minutes, the owner should call back for further instructions.

The APSS veterinarian doubted that this substance was related to causing the clinical situation. The APSS veterinarian recommended a necropsy, but the owner declined.

The clinical condition continued but APSS was not contacted and veterinary care was not sought. The kitten died several hours later.
